Aurora Supporting ASPECT's Building Tots Transition to Preschool Program
As part of local community engagement and contributions, Aurora has recently welcomed a service delivered on site provided by Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect). The service delivered is Aspect’s Building Tots Transition to Preschool Program.
This program supports all children who are not yet accessing an Early Childhood Education setting. Aspect’s Building Tots service provides a range of playgroups across Sydney.
This 9 week/School Term program offers a 1.5hr playgroup commencing from Wednesday 16th October at Aurora’s Frenchs Forest Centre. The program is run by Aspect Therapy staff and utilises one of the play rooms and outdoor space. This is an independent program to Aurora’s, where we support Aspect’s program by providing the physical space and play/learning equipment/resources.
It is part of our DNA to serve our local community and we are very excited about supporting this program. Whilst our children and educators will not be interacting with the program, we encourage Aurora families to chat and educate their children about this amazing initiative so that they are aware of what their centre, Aurora ELC is doing to support the local community and the importance of doing so.
As a background, prior to establishing Aurora ELC, Dalal Lim was a Speech Pathologist with Aspect. Giving back to the community has been her passionate objective and vision from day one.

Supporting Local Community Events
Throughout each year, Aurora Early Learning Centre supports the cause of various local communities via fundraising events, fun-run, themed events, etc. Below are some of the regular activities we have and actively supports.
- Organised Community Food Pantry, where the Centre and families donates food and other life essentials for free to other families in need. Aurora also collects free quality fruit and vegetables donated from a supplier that would have otherwise ended up in the landfill, and offers it to the families of the Centre whom may need it
- Organised and facilitated Transitioning to School workshop and info session for local communities beyond our enrolled families. We invited an experienced primary school teacher to present informative materials and engaging conversations
- Participating in Mother's Day Classic family fun run/walk. We sponsored our staff and supported our families to join and as well as organising fund raising to help with the Cancer research
